Pre-event planning
At Sounds To Go, we place a special emphasis on the planning that happens before your event because we believe that the planning that goes into your wedding ahead-of-time is just as important as what happens the day-of on the dance-floor, and we have a concrete process that hits on every conceivable detail, and you get to see this process and know exactly where we will be when we're done before you even hire us!
During our planning process, we will use comprehensive and detailed planning materials to help us gather tons of information about your wedding that will help us to ensure the overall success of it.

We will work with you to find the style, atmosphere, and flow of events that is right for you and your guests. We can offer ideas for variations and substitutions for some of the traditional events to make sure your celebration is the perfect fit for you. Aren't too keen on the traditional tosses? No problem! Want to get all the kids at your wedding involved but don't know how? Want to do the "Dollar/Money Dance" but don't want to impose on your guests or make them feel pressured or awkward? We can help!
As for planning, there is much much more information required for a successful and exceptional event than just the names of your bridal party, what types of music you like, and the song selections you will dance to through the night. These items are the "gimme's" that are just the tip of the iceberg, and with many services, these few items are just about the extent of the information they gather when planning for your wedding. We go to great lengths to make sure we gather much more information.
We know that there is a lot to think about and keep track of, but with Sounds To Go you never have to worry about the minutia. You should be enjoying your experience... not worrying about the entertainment for your event or how it will unfold.

How we help you plan for your wedding day
Step 1: You do your homework
After our first appointment, the "next step" is for you and your fiancé to start using the planning materials we give you. You'll start with our Wedding Planner, which is a highly detailed template that is 5 pages long,
to gather all of the relevant information for your event. This planner allows us to gather all of the
information we need for each part of your wedding from beginning to end, and it provides an excellent
starting-point for the order of events. We then note the special events and elements you would like to
include in your wedding, and we help develop the order that will work best for you and your guests. This Wedding Planner gathers all of the information about the announcements you would like
us to make, details regarding the logistics of your celebration, musical selections and styles for the
different parts of your event, and much much more.
Step 2: Planning Consultation
Finally, about one month (typically) before your wedding, we schedule what is almost always our second and final consultation appointment with you to help you compile and organize all of the information you have come up with since our first meeting. We'll go over many other things: what announcements you would like made, the manner you would like them made in, how you would like your introductions, the order and pacing of your special events, finalizing music selections and playlists, etc.
If possible, we can even have this consultation at your venue or wedding location itself. This way we can go over things like layout, logistics, and the staging of your ceremony & reception. Meeting at your venue is great because it allows us to meet with your venue staff ahead of time and go over a lot of details that will help us work together smoothly. Since we have a great deal of experience with many of Sacramento's finest wedding venues, a simple phone call to your on-site coordinator is often all it will take to iron out these details.
Step 3: Written Itinerary
We then take this information and transform it into a
simple and easy-to-read Itinerary that represents YOUR wedding, the way YOU have told us you would
love it to be!
We'll deliver a copy of this iteinerary to you so you can review it and make any changes you wish. It can also be delivered to your other vendors, and your
venue staff as well, making sure everyone is "on the same page." It is important to note as well that we will
work with you and your venue staff to seamlessly integrate any time lines/itineraries they will be working off
of as well to make sure that everything is synchronized across the board.
Are you working with a professional wedding/event planner/coordinator? Great! We will work seamlessly
with them both before and during your event to make sure that our itinerary is synchronized with theirs.
Don't settle for a service that does not help you develop an organized, written itinerary for your
wedding day!

Step 4: Rehearsal
If you hired us to provide services for your ceremony as well, and if your venue is within 30 miles of Sacramento (no more disclaimers, we promise!), we'll attend your rehearsal as well. This will allow us to go over details one last time, make any last-minute changes, and more importantly, get familiar with your friends & family, while letting them know what to expect on the big day.
It really is that simple... two appointments, a few e-mails, and we're done! You can relax with peace-of-mind knowing that your DJ is more than prepared.

Attention to detail is key!
Creating a personalized and unique celebration takes planning, and successful planning takes experience and attention to detai. Seeing attention to detail and great organizational skills on the part of your disc jockey beforehand can give you a lot of insight into just how much experience they have, and how they might actually perform and handle themselves when it matters most - at your wedding. These traits can also go a long way towards providing you with confidence in your DJ, and peace-of-mind regarding your wedding day.
Bottom line
As many a bride can tell you, it is not simply about finding a warm body to hit play, or hiring the lowest bidder... at least it shouldn't be. Getting a DJ to show up at your wedding is not a problem at all. Getting a DJ that is well within or even well below your initial budget might not be too much of an issue either.
Getting a DJ for your wedding that is conscientious, detail oriented, and that will provide superior pre-event planning, along with a quality, consistent performance, all while keeping the focus on your guests, your event, and above all you can be a bit of a challenge.
The biggest challenge by far, however, comes in finding a DJ that can deliver both of those - quality and affordability. In other words, the biggest challenge you face is finding the overall best value in a DJ service for your wedding. It is our goal to provide you with this value, and to exceed your expectations, and we have a long list of satisfied clients who can testify that we do just that!.
Whether you are getting married, celebrating an anniversary, or renewing your vows with a ceremony, reception, or both, we do our best to help you realize the event of your dreams.
Let's get started!
We would like to thank you for taking the time to consider our services for your wedding, and we look forward to talking to you about your special event. Please contact us today to ask us about our detailed wedding planning services and how we can help you customize YOUR special day.
